$1500 worth of vaccines and meds from travel clinic yesterday (thank goodness for an amazing drug plan – I only paid $5 dispensing fee for each prescription!), flight booked today…things are really moving forward! I still feel like I have so much to do, but slowly things are getting crossed off the to-do list!
Next phase…gather documents required for my visa and get that sorted!

Welcome!
In 100 days, my whole world will change. Since finishing my post secondary education four years ago, I have worked as a behaviour therapist for kids with autism at one of the regional centers in Ontario. I’ve learned so much in the past four years, and never saw myself leaving this city. My family is here and I have a great little apartment, a car, and a dog. I’ve managed to settle down pretty nicely.
A month ago, I saw a posting for a behaviour therapist position in Vietnam. Intrigued, I emailed the recruiter, and before I knew it I had been offered the job, working for a family who has a little guy with autism. Southeast Asia was no where near the top of my travel to-do list, but the opportunity to work in Vietnam doesn’t come up everyday!
Surprisingly, everyone has been fairly supportive of my big move. My sister and mom will be looking after my dog, and my sister will be taking care of my car. My current employer is even open to holding a position for me. All systems seem to be a go!
I’m slowly getting things organized…getting answers to my many questions, getting my paperwork in order, figuring out what I need to pack and what I need to buy, and making appointments with my dentist, optometrist, doctor, and travel clinic. I even had my first taste of Vietnamese food while visiting my cousins this past weekend! (Good news…I really liked it!)
Come September, expect my adventures to become more frequent and exciting! Until then, lets keep counting down those days!
